Controls Electronics Engineer
Summary
Canadian Bank Note company is developing a cutting-edge scanning probe microscope and the associated interfaces. As an Electronics Engineer at CBN Nanotechnologies, you will play an integral part in exploring, developing, and testing cutting-edge technologies. Your work will be built upon a broad understanding of the physical sciences and unparalleled expertise in your chosen field. You will apply this broad understanding to developing the interfaces between the SPM and the computers controlling this instrument.
Develop high-speed RF and mixed-signal circuits, design PCBs, test these novel designs, and integrate them.
Develop and integrate FPGA systems.
Develop and review PCB designs.
Work closely with software developers and microscope operators to hone requirements for new hardware.
Required Skills and Experience
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop an SPM controller as well as auxiliary equipment to interact with the microscope.Develop high-speed RF and mixed-signal circuits, design PCBs, test these novel designs, and integrate them.
Develop and integrate FPGA systems.
Develop and review PCB designs.
Work closely with software developers and microscope operators to hone requirements for new hardware.
Required Skills and Experience
Good understanding and experience in Verilog.
Working knowledge of Python.
Experience with bringing up prototype circuits.
Hands-on work in analog and digital circuit design. PCB design, development, and testing.
Bachelor’s degree in related field is required.
At least 2 years of work experience in Electrical Engineering.
Designed multiple working high-speed analog, mixed-signal projects
Ability to develop robust electronic designs.
Demonstrated development of closed-loop control systems.
Work in computational modeling and testing of dynamic system performance.
Work with motion sensors and actuators.
Knowledge of optoelectronics, servo control systems.

This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week. Hours are somewhat flexible. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
